Quality Content Remains Key to SEO Performance

MOZ Founder and CEO Rand Fishkin recently highlighted some advanced factors to consider in your SEO strategy. While each of these points can enhance your search results, the general premise remains that creating high-quality, human-friendly content is job number one.

Google’s Artificial Intelligence

The days of infusing a number of keywords in certain places in your articles to get favorable search engine results placement are long gone. Keywords still have merit, but Google’s search engine has become extremely artificially intelligent. Rather than just searching for particular phrases, Google’s crawler is able to detect such things as your natural infusion of related terms and concepts, accuracy of data, domain authority to specific topics and simplicity of message.

As you create your content, one of the key things to keep in mind is what your audience wants to see or hear. Include images, graphics, video elements and other features that a search user would find value in. If your users demonstrate engaging behaviors, Google picks up on that and values your content as well. Google also looks at the level of readability and formatting to see if they meet typical search user expectations.
